Komodo Dragon at Komodo island

The primary and top goals of the 2-day shared Komodo trip;

Adventure and wildlife

  • See Komodo dragons: The main draw for many travelers is a guided trek on Komodo Island to see the world’s largest living lizards in their natural habitat.
  • Swim with manta rays: Visitors can snorkel at Manta Point, where graceful manta rays frequently gather. However, sightings are not guaranteed and depend on the current weather and season.
  • Trek to panoramic viewpoints: Trips typically include a challenging hike up Padar Island to witness a world-famous view of its three distinct, crescent-shaped bays. A shorter hike on Kelor Island also offers excellent photo opportunities.
  • Discover diverse marine life: The park is located within the Coral Triangle, an area of high marine biodiversity. Snorkeling is a major activity, with stops at locations like Manjerite to see colorful coral reefs and marine animals

Efficiency and affordability

  • Maximize time: A 2-day trip is designed for those with limited time, offering a packed but efficient itinerary that hits the most important landmarks. It allows for a fulfilling experience of the park’s key attractions without requiring a longer commitment.
  • Save money: Shared tours are a cost-effective alternative to private trips. By dividing the cost of the boat and crew among several travelers it makes the stunning but pricey destination more accessible for solo travelers and those on a budget.
  • Meet new people: The shared liveaboard experience creates a social environment where passengers can connect with other like-minded travelers from around the world.

Relaxation and natural phenomena

  • Visit the unique Pink Beach: The striking Pink Beach is a popular stop for swimming, relaxing on the rare pink sand, and exploring the shoreline.
  • Watch the flying foxes: The itinerary is often timed to catch the spectacular sight of thousands of flying fox bats emerging from the mangroves on Kalong Island at sunset.
  • Experience a liveaboard cruise: A significant part of the experience is spending the night on a traditional Indonesian wooden boat. This provides a sense of adventure and allows for a truly immersive experience of the national park.
