A 3-day trek to the Mount Rinjani summit and Lake Segara Anak is a challenging but highly rewarding. The route that covers approximately 28 kilometers of volcanic terrain. This “complete experience” package typically starts in Sembalun for a direct summit push and finishes in Senaru, taking you through every major highlight of the mountain.
The primary goals of the 3-day Mount Rinjani summit and Lake Segara Anak trek are to conquer Indonesia’s second-highest peak and experience the mountain’s diverse volcanic ecosystem in a single, continuous journey

The main purpose of 3 days Summit Mount Rinjani.
- Reach the Summit (3,726m). The most significant goal is the early morning ascent to the peak to witness the sunrise over Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa.
- Explore Lake Segara Anak. Descend into the crater caldera to visit this turquoise volcanic lake, which sits at approximately 2,000 meters above sea level.
- Rejuvenate in Natural Hot Springs. Visit and soak in the therapeutic hot springs located just a short walk from the lake’s edge, often used to soothe muscles after the summit push.
- Experience Diverse Landscapes. Traverse multiple ecosystems in three days, including:
- Sembalun Savanna: Wide, open grasslands during the initial ascent.
- Volcanic Ridges: Steep, rocky paths along the crater rims.
- Senaru Rain forest: Lush tropical forests with high biodiversity during the final descent.
- View Mount Baru Jari. Observe the active “baby volcano” located within the crater lake from various viewpoints along the trek.

- Leg Strength: It is essential to descend steep slopes from the crater rim to the lake and the final descent to Senaru, which can put significant strain on your knees.
